Kuala Lumpur, October 8, 2024 – The Smile Future group from Pondok Pesantren Ar Rohmah Putri earned the prestigious Most Active Group Award at the World Youth Festival 2024. This innovative group comprises five talented students: Khatijah Aliya, Hasna Sumayya, Amirah Cetta, Keyla Nadya, and Fairuz Almira. Together, they introduced an educational business idea under the name Smile Future.
Smile Future provides students with a platform to discover career paths that align with their interests, talents, and abilities. This platform integrates two essential concepts: Person-Job Fit Theory and Donald Super’s Career Development Theory.
The Person-Job Fit Theory emphasizes the importance of aligning individual interests and skills with career choices. People tend to experience higher satisfaction when their job matches their passion. Smile Future helps students uncover their potential through interest and talent assessments, reducing career dissatisfaction among future graduates.
At the same time, Donald Super’s Career Development Theory promotes the idea that career development is a lifelong process. Smile Future aligns with this theory by offering early career guidance for middle and high school students, helping them plan for their futures with advice from career professionals.
Smile Future supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth by providing tools for skill development. The platform equips users with training and career coaching to enhance their abilities and secure better job opportunities. With online learning features and mentoring services, Smile Future helps students prepare for the competitive job market.
During the awards ceremony, the group expressed gratitude for their achievement. “We feel grateful for this opportunity and thankful to the judges for recognizing our efforts. This award motivates us to continue helping students,” they said.
Youth Break the Boundaries (YBB) empowers young people to become change agents in their communities. The organization holds international events, such as the World Youth Festival, to provide a platform for youth to share ideas, develop skills, and collaborate on solutions for global challenges. YBB actively supports SDG initiatives, focusing on youth empowerment and sustainable change.
The World Youth Festival (WYF) gathers young people from different nations for collaboration, discussion, and learning. The 2024 event in Kuala Lumpur focused on the theme “Cultivating Youth Creativity in Entrepreneurship.” The festival featured workshops, discussions, and competitions designed to foster leadership, creativity, and cross-cultural understanding.
Pondok Pesantren Ar Rohmah Putri focuses on nurturing both intellectual and spiritual growth in young women. This progressive pesantren aims to produce students with strong religious knowledge and relevant skills to face modern challenges. The institution encourages its students to excel in education and career development, equipping them with the tools to contribute to society.
The Smile Future group hopes their platform will benefit students across Indonesia. With their innovative idea, they aspire to guide more students toward a confident and well-prepared future. Their success at the World Youth Festival 2024 reflects their dedication to making a positive impact in education and career planning.
This award demonstrates the power of youth-led innovation and teamwork, setting an inspiring example for others to follow. Smile Future encourages every young person to believe in their potential and take bold steps toward building a brighter future.
